Tag your works from #Drawtober2025
02 Oct 2025
We're back in October again, the month of illustration challenges! The year has flown by. While these kinds of challenges can be useful for improving your technique and building the habit of persistence, there’s absolutely no obligation to start, finish, or even participate in them. We don't want to contribute to the "grind" culture or the constant pressure to produce content at the expense of personal well-being.
But if you've decided to take on one of these challenges, just like in previous years, we've created a special listing in "Discover Artists" to collect all the work you’ve created for any of these challenges that you'd like to showcase.
To appear there, simply upload your inktober images to your website, click "Edit" on each image, and add the tag "drawtober2025" (important: without the #) under "Tags".
The main goal of this listing is to give away 1 free year of Drawfolio PRO plan to the person whose work gets the most likes.
After the controversy surrounding the original creator of Inktober trying to trademark the name — in addition to plagiarizing other artists' work — many people have created their own October illustration challenges to distance themselves from the original Inktober. We've compiled some of these alternative challenges below, along with the Bluesky or Mastodon posts where we found them:

Good luck with the challenge you’ve chosen, if you’ve chosen one. And remember, it’s never mandatory: if you don’t want to start any October challenge, or if you want to quit halfway through without finishing — that’s totally fine too! The most important thing is to enjoy yourself and keep learning.
